The Rising Magma Mission

The Rising Magma mission is simple: Let’s conquer the world!!

So, how are we gonna do that??

Well, we look at it like this:

You’re in a band from wherever playing heavy stoner in whatever form suites you (cause there are a lot of ways to rock your balls off). Since you’ve been playing a while now and your band is getting pretty freakin’good, you stumble upon some problems.

Now, it ain’t the fact that you don’t get to play enough gigs (what’s enough anyway, if it was up to you, you’d rock your socks off 24/7) but they always seem to be in your own or neighbouring cities. Reviews of both gigs and recordings are kick ass fuckin’ good but that don’t seem to matter either. What you need is gigs, loads of ‘em, and preferably more than 30km away.

Our Solution

What makes your band interesting aside from the fact that you write kickass music, is that you do have a network, although it’s small. That’s exactly what we need, because you can arrange a kick ass venue overthere and we can do the same overhere. So it comes down to this.

We need bands that:

• Are very rockin’ good
• Are no lazy ass free riders but the ambitious kind that can make things happen
• Have a network, small or large
• Although they primarily want to see themselves performing everywhere, don’t mind to take some friends along with them

So, in a nutshell it’s a I-scratch-your-back-you-scratch-mine type of thing. Let’s combine forces mofo’s!!

History

Tank86, an instrumental heavy band from Holland, has taken the initiative to organise the Rising Magma Heavy Festival. They figured, while organising the release party of their new CD, why not invite some other bands to join them on stage during the release. So they did. The first edition of the Rising Magma Heavy Festival will be held on January 25th 2008 in Breda, Holland.

Since all was arranged for this bad ass release party, they figured, why not have a whole bunch of these festivals all over Holland. So they did. In cooperation with their new found friends of Shotgun Shiva, Viral and De Staat, Rising Magma is really getting a hell of a lot more serious and will be playing at Tilburg and Rotterdam. Still a whole bunch of gigs is to be announced since we’re talking with and still looking for cool venues to book us.
